Collins Park campsites – somewhere along the route
Todays route is long, so I leave early and around 12.00 I already did half of the distance. Along the way I meet the guy again who gave me water yesterday. He’s on his way to the Beaverhead forest-service Work Center, 30 mile further. Again with his dog of course. In his ATV of course he’s mush faster than me, so I run into him twice. On his way in and out. Around noon I make it to the ranger station, and I can drink some nice fresh water from the pump and eat something from my supplies. There is no one here besides me. I think the season is already over. I can see the weather is changing; more and more dark clouds are appearing in the sky. Surely, in the afternoon it starts to rain. But like all the other times here it rains for like 10 minutes, then the sun shines for a while and 15 minutes later it starts to rain again. I keep putting my rainwear on and off. The rain has made the road a lot more difficult to pass for my relatively narrow tires. Because of this, I’m not going to make it to the campground I had planned and camp somewhere behind the trees alongside the road. At night it rains quite a bit.
